What is the Key Contact Team?
The Key Contact Team is a coordinated grassroots effort of the Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS®. The objective of this network is to promote high quality contacts with individual legislators on matters of importance to the real estate industry.
Members of the Key Contact System are the "Voice for Real Estate" with their designated state or local legislator. When a key issue is being considered Committee, Council Meeting or on the floor of the General Assembly, members of the Key Contact Team are mobilized to relay the industry's position to their designated legislator.
The foundation of this network is the belief that by working together, as a team, REALTORS® can have a profound influence in shaping public policy. By generating quality contacts with each of the 14 State Legislators, 1 Congressman, elected officials in each county government and 63 municipalities in the Lehigh Valley, the REALTOR® message will undoubtedly be heard.
What is the role of a Key Contact Team Member?
The most important aspect of being a member of the Key Contact Team is having a positive one-on-one personal relationship with your state or federal legislator. This relationship promotes a sense of mutual respect and familiarity.
Aside from maintaining this relationship, Key Contacts are called on to perform other functions as well. This could include any of the following:

Attend in-district fundraisers for legislators: either with your own funds, or with funding from RPAC;

Respond to Calls-to-Action;

Visit your legislator in the district, Harrisburg, or Washington, DC;

Remaining current on legislative issues;

Developing REALTOR® support for your legislator;

Volunteering on your legislator's campaign;
